Millipedes, frogs, and crabs. Anyone have worksheet activities for students to record info? I am lost.

Science Notebooks

Science notebooks are a great way for kids to record observations, questions, predictions, etc, and generally explore the scientific process. You might want to do a lesson on "scientific drawing" and "scientific observation" before you get started. Here's a website that explains the nuts and bolts of science notebooks:

http://lhsfoss.org/fossweb/news/pdfs...book_FOLIO.pdf

For each lesson, students record a focus question, which can be teacher or student generated. (EX: "What body parts does a millipede have?" "How can I find out if a millipede is an insect?" "What changes occur in frogs as they grow?") Then the students/class design a way to collect information, record it, and then analyze their data. This can include drawings, labels, and observational anecdotes. Hope this helps!
