Birthday party gift

I am going to a 50th birthday party later tonight and I am a friend of a friend. I met this lady maybe two times and enjoyed her company. I don't like going to a party without a gift, but I don't even really know her. I bought her a medium sized box of Fannie Mae candy that was 10 dollars and a card. I feel like that's fine, but want some reassurance. I can always stop and get a gift card if you all say the candy is too cheap.

I think your gift is perfect—and very thoughtful.

You are ready to go. I think you are very sweet to buy her something when you don't really know her well. I am sure she will appreciate your gift. Have fun at the celebration.

I agree with the others - it's perfect. She won't be expecting anything, so she'll appreciate that you thought about her.
