Visiting my nephew. It was so windy when I took the picture, I was afraid I would lose the device in the lake!

This storm cloud was massive and very swirly. It was really cool looking! This was when I was coming out of the grocery store and it wasn't raining yet. A 5 minute drive home and it was pouring by the time I got there.

Nothing to see, just your typical dog enjoying the giant zucchini he stole out of the garden while keeping watch over his boy swinging on his swingset.

I posted this Sunday night in another thread, but nothing else has happened since. These are from Sunday afternoon when I got to be a train engineer. I won the raffle.

My dad worked for a coal processing plant for 36 years, so I grew up around diesel trains and coal, but never a steam engine. It was very cool.

I found this adorable frog on the burning bush. The pink flower is from a cutting DH got about 15 years ago from his now deceased friend, so it is extra special to us. It takes it all summer before it finally blooms, though. The last picture are some mums I recently bought to plant in the front yard. They are huge and only cost $5 each!

I know itís ridiculous, but 2 bags of melon cut and ready to eat make me happy. I donít like lugging the watermelon home from the grocery store, I donít like cutting it up. But seeing 1/2 watermelon (with the other half waiting in the fridge) and 1 whole cantaloupe ready for the week (it doesnít look like much in the picture, but thatís a lot of melon) makes me smile.

I grew watermelon for the first time this year. Here’s the first one we got to enjoy from my garden. It was very good!

Nothing like taking a helicopter ride over a glacier in Alaska! My daughter sent me a slew of unbelievable photos of her adventure. The helicopter actually landed nearby on solid ground so they could take pictures at ground level.

We took a ride on the boat the other night and had drinks and some munchies as we watched the sunset.

We are winterizing the boat soon, I will miss nights like this!

All the nature pictures are stunning.

This is the first Alice tea cup I made for granddaughter’s birthday.

This guy\gal was hanging out in a tree in our front yard. Not sure if its the same owl, but that branch seems fairly popular as this was at least the third time I've seen it there.

Saturday Surprise
Old 09-17-2021, 07:03 PM

I was pulling weeds in my flower beds Saturday and looked up to see this little cutie on my milkweed plant. I decided I needed to introduce him to my class, so I rehomed him to my butterfly house. I was hoping they would get to watch all the changes, but by the time I got DH home from the hospital Tuesday afternoon my little friend was already attached and in his j-curve. Before I went to bed that night he had formed his chrysalis. I was able to transport 'Maximus' safely to school and we are now waiting for our butterfly to emerge.
