Thinking Maps!

Hey PT friends! Anybody got any neat thinking map posters they'd like to share. The ones that come with the notebook are u-g-l-y! I saw some on somebody's wall that shared photos of their classroom, but haven't heard back from them on my request to get a copy.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I used the ones from the book to make my bulletin board. It's not my favorite board by any means, but I think it looks decent because of the bright background and cute border. Even though the posters are ugly, maybe you can spruce up your display another way.

Maybe someone will have some posters they're willing to share!

Do you want something like this? If so, I can make the others. I just whipped this one off in about 2 min.

I know the ones with the book aren't anything grand to look at, but the point is to make brain connections. I know that when my students make them we add color as they choose, but I think that if we add color to the posters we need to be careful that it doesn't detract from the connections the brain needs to make for building the map itself.

Found the post. They are cute. I think the multi-flow isn't quite right though.

I use these all the time in my classroom. The kids get a lot from them and use them constantly. I love them all decked out though. )

Flow Map -- specially designed for Susan Teacher

File is too large to post here and seems to lose some of my customizations when I upload the .pdf on google even though it looks good when I open it in reader on my computer. Here is the link to download anyhow, I may work on this one some more to get it the way I intended though.

Flow Map

I think it is just the preview that doesn't look the way I wanted it to. When you download it you should see a lovely marbelized background in the frame of reference box.

last but not least -- and again too big so it is linked to google docs for the download

Hope these are something that people can use
I'm thinking I may use them for VP posters when more freebies and good deals come along

the multi flow map

This one also looks better after you download and open in adobe.

I've changed the Multi-Flow map from Cupcake0806's post. I think it will be an improvement that you all will enjoy. Thanks, Cupcake, for the original attachment. I hope you don't mind the change. I loved yours and didn't want to give them up! I think they are perfect for my room!

Dragonlady, the Multi-flow is still not correct. On the left side, with arrows pointing INTO the center, is the cause. The box in the center is the event that happened, and the right side, with arrows pointing OUT of the center, is the effect.

So an event like, I went to school, would be in the center.

On the left hand side would be causes of the person going to school (ie: I want to learn to multiply. My teacher is having a fun activity. Want to see my friends.) All of the reasons the event would occur. Since those are causing the event to happen, the arrows are pointing in to said event.

On the right hand side are all the effects of that event. (ie: I learned many things. Discovered the principal is nice.) All of the things that happened as a result of the event are on this side, and since they are a direct result of that event, the arrows are pointing away from the event, into the effects.

Here is a quick example I just found on the internet of one a student did.
