Do you love your avatar?

This morning I had to google Jackieís avatar to understand the meaning. Very cool statement, Jackie!

I used to have a design avatar I liked, but I love my new one. I like it because it was fun when a bunch of posters were switching to looks-like-me avatars. I especially like the sweat; it reminds me to work hard and stay on track with exercise (because I certainly canít stay on track with food ).

What about you? Tell us about your avatar.

Good morning!!!

I changed mine when everyone started using the looks like me ones, as well.

I like it it because in my head, that is exactly how I look. I do have short red hair and blue eyes..... I try not to change it too often because I tend to look at others’ avatars before I read their name. If I see Beets by Schrute, I know it’s Hifi. If it’s a sweating blond, I know it’s you

Mine relates to Harry Potter that I love. The stars are in the books on every page. The triangle is the Deathly Hallows and the Always is what Snape says in reference to his love for Harry's mother, Lily.

My avatar is a favorite toy from childhood......beautiful Crissie. It was a doll whose hair could 'grow' and shorten. I chose this one several years ago when another poster suggested we all change our avatars to favorite childhood toys. I haven't taken the time to change it because I don't remember how!

I've always loved the scary wicked witch...how could that ever have been thought to be a kids movie?

2teach2, I had Crissy AND Velvet ( blond hair, purple velvet dress). I LOVED those dolls!

My "avatar" is from one of my trips to my favorite place on Earth, Bermuda. We found this little tiny beach and had a lovely time sitting and staring at that beautiful peaceful view and relaxing.

Mine is a lily that blooms every summer but by front door. It was easy. I'm too lazy/clueless to change it.

I do truly ďLove My JobĒ, but itís also appropriate when I need to repeat it to myself over and over when things are getting to me! It may actually relate back to when I was struggling.

2teach2, I had a Beautiful Crissy as well, loved her!

When Boy was small, one of his favourite toys was his green bunny. It's not the same as my avatar--the real one (see below) is fluffier and lighter in colour. When I chose the picture that's my avatar, I didn't have the capability of using my own pictures so I found one online. I chose it because it's silly, frivolous, and a little edgy.

I was trying to find a good picture of some flowers that are in my yard but this purple flower pic on a black background and loved it instead.

Funny I was thinking about this the other day as I read through a good number of posts. I do enjoy mine. It just represents a typical scene, traveling down the road, blue skies ahead on a summer day!

I never think about it. It was such a struggle to come up with this username (everything I wanted was already “in use”). I finally had to start throwing random words together (in use, in use, in use...). Faster and faster I tried, and whomp! Suddenly this one was accepted. Thank goodness it’s actually a pretty combination, instead of something like liver lips. Thank goodness, too, that when I searched glacier rose for an image, I found one that I thought was pretty good right off the bat. I’ve never thought of changing it, and now I don’t even pay attention to it.

Pivotal point in my life
Old 08-11-2019, 09:04 AM

When I joined PT I had a lovely cat, hence my name...
Less than 2 months after I joined my sister was murdered. My puppy in my avatar is the girl that I rescued to help me get through my grieving. I couldnít bring myself to taking on the responsibility of my sisterís aging dog. I didnít want to have to make decisions about his life. He went to a loving coworker of my sister and followed her to his death 3 months after hers. Plus, he was a witness to her death.
My little pup brings me such joy and she definitely has done her job as my companion.

We lost our kitty 2 years ago.

I need to change mine. I selected mine right after the stylist cut my hair really short and I wasn't all that happy about it. I have embraced the style now, so I need to update my avatar.

The dog in my avatar isn't really mine, I couldn't figure out how to download a pic to my computer at the time. So I just got a Golden off the internet. I do have a Golden and another dog too, just not that particular one. And it still takes me forever to figure out how to post a pic on this site.

I found mine after a night of trying to find a user name for myself. I was getting tired and typed in "time for bed" just because I was being silly and was getting punchy. Ta dah. It worked.

So the next day began a hunt for a good avatar to go with it.

Now I have no idea how to change it to anything, and I wouldn't recognize myself if I changed it.

I've had a zillion different avatars here over the years. I choose ones that fit my mood or my goals. I wish the old posts kept the old avatars and I could see what I've had before. Sometimes I recycle back through old ones. I think I've had this one for a while, though. For quite a while, I had the meez thing going on. Years and years ago.

I have had the same one for 11 years so I guess I like my avatar. Looks like me when I was teaching as I was trying to get from the library to my classroom.

Personally I get confused when people change their avatars so I prefer to keep the same one.

Mine does not look like me, but it expresses my inner humor and sarcasm. Actually, I’m a heck of a lot older, have never been blonde (silver now) and am a bit introverted. I can be with people, but it’s exhausting and I love to get home!

But I’ve worn a blonde wig similar to this for a costume day!

I feel "meh" about my avatar. I chose my name originally because I wanted something that would return results other than PT if it were ever googled.

Wallace and Gromit were on my mind at the time. I was really into dog training as well, so I picked the dog half of the duo. I took the first Gromit image I found and uploaded it. I don't really have a reason to change it.

And so here we are ten years later.

Quote:

Thank you for that! It always throws me off for a while when people change their avatars.

I have been here for 12 years and have never thought about putting up an avatar. I am not really sure why. I guess I sometimes still feel like a guest even though I have been on here for over a decade.
