Is there a good app to keep notes organized when conferencing with students?

How about Confer http://www.conferapp.com/ It is expensive, did not realize. They have a lite version to test out and if it is good it may be worth the money.

I used Teacher Notes last year and thought it was good for my purposes. I am quite sure it was free.

I use Notability and like how I can create folders for each kiddo. You can organize the folders under tabs as well so I have sections for different committees and types of meetings. It records audio too.

CCPensieve - CAFE Conferring Pensieve

I use the online pensieve created by the two sisters. I love it and find it to be well worth the money. There are two versions, 1. This version is not shareable with others and if I remember correctly some printing privileges are not included. 2. This version has sharing and printing privileges. Sometimes the sharing part is very beneficial when working with special needs students and teachers. I believe it is around $40 for a year. You can access at www.ccpensieve.com.

It was free. I will add I also use the Pensieve as someone else mentioned to track my small group lessons and conferences. But, I found when I just needed to record notes, Notability worked well.

Bright Loop

I use Bright Loop to keep notes while I'm conferring. It's easy to identify CC standards you are working on, type notes, and make goals for students. You can also take pics of student work for your records. It allows you to make student groups and take notes in multiple subjects.

brightlooplearning.com is the website.

I have a hard time with this. I start out taking notes in a notebook. And then after a few weeks I just stop and then intuitively teach small group mini lessons. For whole group, I have a calendar I follow.

Am I missing something?

Edited to add--I just looked at this Brightloop site. This is amazing. When do you find the time to make the notes? As you conference?

I used the confer app last year. I wasn't totally pleased with it. I may be missing something, but after I put in a standard I couldn't edit or delete it. I liked how I could group kids and take notes on them. But I don't think it was worth the money. My school paid for it.

Is bright loop free?

Brightloop

I'm pleased to say I have been using Brightloop and I love it! It is totally free. I can take notes for reading and writing, math, behavior, and I think there is another category but it is awesome! I can't loose any sticky notes and I can read my typing so that won't be a problem. You can make goals for the kids which I like too. I think there is a lesson plan option too but I found out about chalk.com for planning this year which was a little tricky to get used to at first but I'm really like it too. Especially the 'move the lesson plan' feature since we don't always get to what I planned or snow days etc. Now I just wish my drawers where I keep my day to day copies would move automatically as well

I really recommend brightloop if you are like me and want ONE place to take notes for multiple subjects. Love it! Oh and it emails you a report each week. Super easy to see which kids you haven't touched base with either which is super nice since some kids you forget about because they are quiet or self sufficient. I have an iPad so I should mention using it on there makes it really portable. I'm not sure if I would feel the same if I had to do my notes on a lap top since during writer's workshop I'm roaming the room to do conferences.
