My class of 11 students wishes to penpal, via email, with another K class. We are a small, but mighty, independent school on the shores of the Chesapeake Bay (VA). Would anyone like to join us?

Clip to ScrapBook #3

Hello. Our class has begun a penpal program with a K class in Maine. We have started the year with drawings sent back and forth and will eventually send written letters, then emails from one class account to the other, and end the year with a Skype from class to class. Our first packages included class photos, a K level book about animals from the region, seasonal stickers, and the class drawings for each child to have.

This is really working out nicely! My class has taken a keen interest in geography, taken a field trip to the local post office, and we have a map of of our penpals' state in our classroom to further our discussions of our new friends.
