I'm doing a lesson that requires "#10 pencils" I can't find any sets of just #10s and they seem like they'd be expensive even if I could find a set of 25.

What does a #10 do and how could I replicate it cheaply?

Never heard of them. Off to google it!!

5 minutes later: still unclear... are they more like a charcoal pencil than a lead writing pencil? What is the project? Maybe that would help me.

We have an architect coming to do some design lessons and I'm in charge of collecting materials. They're going to sketch designs with him.

I think probably regular pencils will work for our purposes and he just wrote #10 because it's standard??

Maybe use #2 pencils...they’re relatively soft. Or, can you let him know what a gift it would be if he brought enough for the class to borrow while he’s there?

I think I'd email (or call) and ask where to get #10 pencils. You'll either get the info needed to buy them or he'll offer to bring them.
