ESL vs Bilingual Certification in Texas

Which one would be more beneficial to have, ESL or Bilingual Supplemental? I'm trying to decide which one to take, and soon since it's hiring season! I test well and difficulty of the test isn't an issue. Any advice would be appreciated.

Depends on what state you are in -- here in Illinois, it is harder to get your bilingual certificate (because you have to speak Spanish), but once you get it, you are covered for both ESL and bilingual. If you only get your ESL, you are not endorsed for bilingual. I would go for bilingual. Look at what your state offers more (ESL or bilingual classes).

ESL or Bilingual?

There are always openings in many districts for Bilingual teachers. That being said, I would suspect that there are fewer Bilingual teachers than ESL teachers. Where does your "heart" tell you it wants to teach?????
