I just discovered the second edition of the Daily 5 book by the sisters. I am implementing this in my classroom, but have read the first edition. My question is... Do I need to purchase the newer book, or is the original okay for my first year?

in the second edition. They have tweaked some of their lessons, when they introduce each part, etc., and the second edition also includes Math Daily 3 if you are ever considering that. You can certainly use what you have successfully but keep in mind that the sisters continue to research what they are doing! I find their website to be valuable and I also subscribe to that as well.

I have been wondering about the new edition, as well. I have tried, not real successfully, to implement Daily 5.
