Resource Scheduling

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I'm about to start trying to schedule 30 students who are in an out of 2 Resource rooms K-5. It usually takes us at least 2 weeks to get the kinks out. We use a visual schedule on an easel moving post-it notes around with groups of students until we get it. It's a very lengthy and frustrating process.
Can anyone share how they do it that might be helpful? It just becomes so confusing to me and we have the additional pressure of serving the students the first day of school. The school special area schedule is not shared until maybe Monday and we start the following week..
Does anyone have any tricks to make it go smoothly?

I am a new resource teacher this year and will be working on my schedule tomorrow. I will be discussing the schedule with the other resource teacher to figure out our new schedule and I will let you know if we come up with any new ideas.

I use post it's to create my schedule too. The biggest thing that helps me is that we try to keep all of the resource kids in the same general ed class in each grade that way I'm only dealing with 1-2 teacher schedules per grade. This may not be possible with the size of your caseload. Good luck
