Art Classroom Door ideas???

Clip to ScrapBook #1

I teach K-5 art in a rural county in Georgia. Each year I've had a very creative door that the kids really enjoy. My first year the door was a giant Campbell's Soup can...Andy Warhol theme. My second year I made a big Blue Dog (George Rodrigue) and "costumes" for him to wear each month of the year. Last year I had a tiki theme...had the grass roof over my door, made giant tiki poles by painting faces on discarded carpet tubes from my local flooring store. I glued the tiki poles on either side of my outside door, and continued the tiki theme into the room. I am having "brain freeze" this summer coming up with a new idea. Any suggestions out there? I'd like it to go along with art in some way, not just a random "cute" theme idea. Thanks so much for any ideas!!!

How about Van Gogh's Sunflowers or Mondrian's color block designs?

Monet's water lilies and especially Bridge over a Pool of Water Lilies. Encourage students to cross the bridge into the world of Art.
