Thumb drum, KEnte cloth, stool.,

There is a company that you can purchase artifacts from.
Look up Social Studies school Service for artifacts.

Try to find the book "Entitled Brown Bag Ideas from Many Cultures" by Irene Tajeda. It has wonderful ideas on how to make art using brown paper bags, and there will be some activities about Africa. Look up KidsKonnect on Google and when you get to the site, look at the subject index for Africa. There probably will be many resources there.

Plays from Africa

We are using different cultures for a summer camp this year. We are using the book "Plays from African Tales" by Barbara Winther. I got it from the local library. Some of the plays are a bit wordy but they are based on African Folk Tales so they are easily adaptable to young students. The production notes are helpful and include some ideas for set and costumes the students can create...if you have time.
