I'm hosting book club brunch soon. I'm busting out the waffle iron. What should I serve in addition to waffles? Definitely doing mimosas and coffee, but what else?

Always add bacon...crispy, not floppy, because gross.

Have fun!!

Bacon or sausage if you want to add a meat
Fresh fruit
Possibly an egg bake (I don't think it's strictly needed though!)

I just hosted a brunch yesterday!

I served:
Amish breakfast casserole (1st time, ended up being delicious)
Chocolate Chip Coffee Cake
Fruit
Crepes (someone else brought)
Veggie tray

I was unsure about the combination and if it was enough, but it ended up being perfect. A little sweet, a little savory, a little healthy. Have fun!

I would do one of those baked egg recipes that includes bacon or sausage in a muffin tins. This would be your savory protein.

Then I would have a couple of fruit choices. Maybe strawberries with whipped cream to go on the waffles or just fresh sliced apples for a healthier choice.

I am sure it will be delicious whatever you decide. Have fun!

I would do a protein - eggs, sausage, or bacon. I would also do a fruit, probably berries because they could go on top of the waffles or by themselves.

You could also do a make your own breakfast sandwich with toasted English muffins, poached eggs, bacon or sausage, and other toppings - cheese, spinach, tomatoes.

If it is cold where you are, a slow cooker with oatmeal might be nice. If you want some more lunch items you could do a soup instead.

I personally would welcome a variety of fruit. Right now berries are in season and can make a colorful display.

I would want bacon for no other reason than it's delicious!

I love making a fruit sauce when we have waffles (just frozen fruit heated up and smashed to smithereens). And don't forget some whipped cream!
