What have you done lately to take care of yourself? Maybe a listing will inspire someone in PTLand who's struggling with self care.

I am working on organizing my craft area. The disaster it has become has caused the area to stress me out rather than be my sanctuary. I am getting it back to sanctuary status. I have consolidated 5 large tubs into one storage tub that will hibernate in the basement for a while.

Great question. Iím in such a state of lethargy, I realized I was doing close to nothing. So my current goal is to try to accomplish just 1 extra thing everyday.
*I got a haircut and now I look like I might care about myself.
*Today I went grocery shoppingówhich is a big deal because I go so rarely.
*Tomorrow, no kidding, Iím taking a Zoom flower arranging class.

I also find that making future plans, even if vague, helps me:
*planning a small celebration for DDís birthday (just we 2) at the end of the month
*planning a condo Zoom book group
*planning a post-pandemic condo water exercise group in the pool

Seems so small, but Iím feeling better than before.

Fixing up the house. Lots of projects happening! And then I have to clean and clean and organize and organize.

Bought some salon products for my hair. They didnít help.

Listening to music, playing music, making art.

Iím regaining strength and almost back to my regular workout routine.

Talked to/texted a few people I havenít seen in months. Brief communications, but still very beneficial to my psyche.

I found a gym that is open with 30% capacity and an indoor pool (it's killer hot here!). Reservations are required. 3X a week I'm able to swim laps and water walk for an hour. After swimming my mood is much improved!

I went camping in Maine with my gentleman friend. We walked on the beaches and watched the waves roll in, checked out the life in the tide pools, and made símores for dessert. Made and ate our breakfast of coffee and oatmeal on the beach and watched the sunrise. It was lovely!

I purchased a small jar of moisturizer from Clinique. So far, I am loving it and it feels so refreshing.

and I went 4 wheeling today and brought a picnic lunch. We saw people on the trail but it was nice to just sit and munch in the sunshine near a lake.

One of my friends meets me for 15. minutes of our lunch time to walk our track. Sometimes that is the only walking I do.

Finally this week I am able to have enough energy after work to come home and take my walk. Woo hoo! That helps because that is my time to listen to my audiobook!

I did start a new puzzle, but my eyes have hurt so much that it hasn't caused me joy yet. I am making progress and at least I am not looking at a screen when doing it.

I learned to sew a homemade journal together and have made several for dd's photos of granddaughter . I am in several craft groups and have practiced several techniques via Zoom. I love organizing and recently organized and cleaned out two large file cabinets.

Walk and exercise everyday.
DH and I took a 9 mile bike ride last week and a 13 mile ride this week. My first time on a bike in two years. We found some nice trails about twenty miles away that had hardly any people and nice scenery.
Iím scanning and labeling family pictures from the early 1900ís through today. My plan is to give a flash drive with the pictures to my brother for his birthday in December.

I've been doing no school work at night the last two days. Tomorrow will day 3! Tomorrow night my mom is coming over to my place and we are having dinner, watching a movie, and maybe going on a walk if the weather is nice.

Iíve started working on my TpT store again. I actually find it relaxing.

Since I had to take a sick day today, I actually rested. I slept until 11:00 and napped. Apparently I needed it.

Riding my bike - the most therapeutic thing I do
Walking on the beach with DH
Calling a good friend
A hot shower
Playing my keyboard
Listening to classical music
Snuggling with the dog

Love the tongue drum! Now I want one! Never heard of it before.

I joined a gym only for the lap pool. Only 1 person swimming at a time. Love it!

Dance lessons. Again. Only 1 in the studio at a time.

Walking the track with colleagues at work.

Making brownies and muffins (ha-good think I'm doing 3 different types of exercise a week).

When we had the initial lockdown during spring I was learning how to take better care of my self by praying, zooming on Zumba and exercising on a regular basis. For Easter we zoomed with family etc. .

Next during summer when shelter in place continued after a brief spurt of return to normalcy I attended Zumba in the park and walked the lake . I signed up for a reading institute ,set aside time each morning to pray on line, and began remodeling my house.

Now that Fall seems to be in the air I'm not having it anymore,. I definitely need more . Fall is my favorite time of year. Even though I live in brush fire territory and know all too well what can happen I love fall.

After I wallow a bit in self pity I am reminded of my good friend and colleague who a week before school started was diagnosed with ovarian cancer that has spread considerably. When I spoke to her last week she was so thankful to be able to rest in her own bed after being evacuated for a few days . She said she was relieved that her house was able to be saved when others nearby her burned.

So perhaps daily being thankful for being healthy, safe, and alive . These times are truly a test of patience aren't they?
