Is it too early?

As I drove home from work today, I made plans to take a walk and so some light housework. As I entered my house, the sheer exhaustion of virtual teaching, handling union issues, and keeping my fellow staff members calm and focused hit me like a brick wall. Its almost 5 pm. I think Ill go to bed.

Its not too early, right?

never too early to go to bed I hope you get a nice nap.

The danger, of course, is that you wake up in the middle of the night and your sleep might be messed up...

I don't blame you at all. Rest when you can as it is very important to take care of ourselves.

All day today, I was looking forward to heading home, putting on PJS, reading my book, drinking hot chocolate and watching tv. I hate dinner and went took a nap from 6:30-8. Now I'm up but still to tired to read. I'm in my PJS watching tv and surfing PT.

I crawled into bed about 5:30 and slept until my usual wake up time on a Saturday (5 am). I dont really fell rested, but will take my day as slowly as I can.

Of course, since I turned off all my electronic devices, I have to contact family today to tell them Im ok. I live alone and my family checks on me often. I should have told them I was heading to bed early. I received some panicked texts and voice mails.
