Happy Christmas! Does anybody have any plays, skits, or poems that would be good for a 1st Grade assembly? Any ideas would be great. Thanks!

Clip to ScrapBook #2

I work in a Catholic School and we do prayer services each week in rotation. My class has the week of MLKJ day. we are designing tshirts with our school role models and heroes on them and talking about the contributions they make in our lives. then we will sng along to the song With my own two hands found on the curious george soundtrack of Jack johnson and friends. we do a little sign language with the song too.

The focus isn't necessarily on black history or MLKJ directly, but the project allows students to honor some people that don't always get noticed for thethings they do do. Plus it helps them to recognize POSITIVE role models in our small community.
