C1 Selected Response Grading

Does anyone know how much each question is worth? I read on the NBPT website that they are 1 point a piece. This doesn't make sense to me because I scored a 2.763. I would like to know how many correct responses that grade would be. I know there are 45 questions and only 40 are graded. I'm retaking this section because it is worth 20%, but I'm hoping I can raise it to at least a 2.94 to pass overall. I know this will never happen for me, but ideally if you get all 40 questions correct, would you score a 4.25? I guess my overall concern is can I easily raise my score that .177 of a point? How close am I? I have studied more and feel more prepared, but I am still panicking. I should add that I obviously am not looking for that minimum score of 2.94. I want to see a score in the 3s!

It's page 5 of the scoring guide. I agree with you that some questions must be weighted though. I'm just driving myself crazy and need to just do my best and say a ton of prayers between now and December!

Whoa, you're right about the 1 point thing. I stand corrected and apologize.

It also says this, which covers how it gets converted:

Quote:
...scorable items answered correctly will be converted to and reported as a score rounded to
three decimal places between 0 and 4.25, the rubric score scale. The conversion standardizes
the meaning of performance across certificate areas and across all four components of the
assessment. The National Board has a policy not to release the conversion tables.
They don't release the conversion tables. I have to assume there is some weighting that goes on in their standardizing because some questions on mine were much easier than others.

Love the phrase "standardizes the meaning of performance".

Clear as mud, lol.

Yes! Clear as mud! lol
I agree, there were some that were obvious answers and some that I couldn't even use process of elimination. I'm crossing my fingers the latter of the two are the 5 that aren't scored!!!
