Videos with Music

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hi-
I often like to engage the students by using a video that covers a skill or concept. I teach Middle School LA. Having just a powerpoint works, but when you have videos with current music, it really gets their attention. My work space is in another teacher's classroom and she uses them often (as well as other teachers). I asked her how she finds such great videos, and all she offered was "youtube". How exactly do you find these. I've tried searching, but without previewing every listing......
Thanks so much in advance

If you already have text and/or pictures you want to use, and just want to set it to music, you could make your own on Animoto.

Lakeside- I've heard of this but I'll have to visit that site. I have tried animating my own powerpoints with music etc...just very time consuming

Search for "flocabulary" on YouTube. They have their own website as well, but the videos are free on YouTube so I find them there. The kids really enjoy them.

I tend to use many YouTube "historyteacher" videos. She does great covering the material.

Elements of music

I find if you are fairly specific in your search it helps. I've found several for gr. 1-3 music and once I found those, there were more available from the same producer/website. e.g. musick8.com for music notation, dynamics etc. They don't use comtemporary music, but they explain elements of music in an entertaining way with animations and catchy tunes. Hope this helps.
