What chore do you like? Which do you hate?

Mauiís post about cleaning the fridge inspired me to clean mine last night. It gives me a weird amount of satisfaction to clean out the fridge. What chore gives you satisfaction? What chore do you just hate?

I like ironing. I iron clothes, pillowcases, and tablecloths. I find it very enjoyable and very satisfying to have a crisp linen table cloth on my dining room table and crisp pillowcases on my bed. I find ironing relaxing. I get it from my mother. When my mother was undergoing chemo for the second time, she asked me to take her shopping for a new ironing board so she could iron sitting down. She liked the satisfaction that came with ironing.

I hate washing dishes. My house didnít have a dishwasher when I bought it and I used my tax refund to buy one. No purchase has given me more pleasure than my dishwasher.

What chore do you enjoy? What do you hate doing?

Household chores

Ironing stresses me out. I'm not very good at it and the idea of not achieving perfection is more than I can handle. Plus it makes me sweat, so I hate it.

For some reason I do like cleaning the fridge. It helps me to keep track of the groceries, making me feel more organized.

I used to like doing laundry, but stairs are becoming painful for me and my laundry room is in the basement, so I hate doing laundry right now.

I like doing dishes most times. It gives me a chance to be alone and gather my thoughts, which then turns into prayer or worship time for me. If I'm troubled this is especially beneficial. If I'm tired and hurting, I tend to resent doing the dishes and just want to sit down.

I like washing dishes. Something about the feel of warm water on my hands and the sound of it is calming. I can hum and be in my own little world. As an introvert, I used to do dishes when we went to family gatherings as a kid bc I knew no one would come bug me.

I loathe and despise folding and hanging up clothes from the dryer. Even tried doing it in front of the TV. Nope nope nope!

I don't really LIKE any chores, but I don't mind laundry too much. I can sort and fold while watching television so that helps.

I hate dusting and vacuuming! It's SOOOO time consuming!

I don't mind most household chores. It's picking up and putting away clutter that I find to be most tedious. I don't enjoy cleaning the bathtub, either, just because I can't find a comfortable position in which to do it. Cleaning cat boxes isn't my favorite either, not because it's gross and smelly (although it is) but because I keep them in the basement and I get tired of hauling cat litter up and down the stairs.

If "chores" extends to outdoor tasks, my absolute most dreaded chore is cleaning gutters.

I do gain a sense of satisfaction from cleaning and organizing the fridge, kitchen and bathroom cupboards, closets, etc.

I love pressure washing! I see immediate results. Something about getting my patio or driveway so clean excites me. I look forward to this chore every spring.

I love laundry --- including ironing!

I hate cleaning the bathroom, especially the tub. I hate mopping floors.

Because of my cats, I dust furniture and swiffer the floors just about every day, and I don't mind it.

I like cleaning the kitchen. I remember back in the days of the Fly Lady, how she stressed the importance of the SHINY SINK! lol!

I love having the bed made and the laundry put away. I make my bed every morning and do a load or two of laundry almost every day. It makes me feel better to have those chores done.

I hate cleaning floors. I feel like it's such a pain to sweep / mop / vacuum and then it never fails that 5 minutes later something is on the floor again that needs to be cleaned.

I like doing laundry and rarely iron anything. I am fortunate to have a house cleaning service come twice a month. It is worth every penny.

I like doing laundry, making beds, wiping counters. I like jobs where I see immediate sparkly results.

I hate vacuuming and washing the bathtubóboth are backbreakers for me.

Don't mind most.... but dislike putting away folded laundry and emptying the dishwasher.

Outdoors - my favorite thing to do is mow the lawn - instant gratification - sometimes I go in a pattern direction just for fun

I like all indoor chores except cleaning the shower and laundry. I enjoy ironing.

I like being outside but I dislike yardwork.

I do enjoy ironing...rather therapeutic for me.
Also, cleaning fridge, spice cabinet, junk drawer. I like order.

Not a fan of cleaning shower/bathtub.
Is cooking a chore? It is for me and donít enjoy it.

Like: laundry. Love the smell and warmth of fresh laundry!

Loathe: cleaning! I have done so much cleaning because of ringworm, then sickness, then COVID awareness that I never want to clean my house again. Like never ever. I need to find a bazillion dollars so I can hire it out for the rest of my life.

Household tasks I don't mind doing are laundry and washing dishes. My new home came with a brand new dishwasher which I have yet to use nine months later. I am a fanatic about keeping a clean fridge and kitchen counters. But I HATE having to vacuum and then mop my all tile flooring.

My solution is a two person team of cleaning ladies who just returned last week after a nearly four month absence. We all wore masks and practiced social distancing, and the house looked so much better afterwards.

I don't own an iron. If it isn't wash and wear, I don't buy it. Life's too short!

I do not like ironing and do not iron anything.
I don't mind anything else, including cleaning toilets, mopping floors and (inside) windows. That said, it's a joined effort, as DH was well-trained by his ex to help with all the chores. He usually does the vacuuming, dishes, yard work and his own laundry.
We do have a once-a-month person come in to do a major cleaning.

I like to iron. When I was teaching it was a mindless way to accomplish something after thinking all week! I still like it.

I donít mind cleaning my own house, except bathrooms, but I think cleaning for others would not be for me.

I'm with letsgomets. I'm sitting here trying to figure out how so many people like chores .

I guess maybe running the dishwasher because I can appreciate how much time it saves?

I haven't owned an iron in years . I dry all of my clothes in the dryer so wrinkles aren't typically an issue. If they are, I throw whatever it is in the dryer with a wet wash cloth and it usually takes care of it.

I don't like any of them! But I don't mind laundry. I HATE cooking.

One of my favorite book quotes:
"As for sweeping the floor, polishing the windows, dusting, and general drudgery of that sort... well, if women's work was never done, why trouble about how much of it wasn't being accomplished at any given moment?"

Mopping the floors and cleaning the bathrooms gives me a great sense of satisfaction! I hate dusting and as less frequent chores go, I dread cleaning and organizing the kitchen cabinets!
