1. I have never been a landlord.

2. I like to splurge on sheets and towels so they feel soft and comfortable.

3. I have several toys that were mine as a child including a Kewpie doll, Chatty Cathy doll, Barbie doll and a metal penny bank shaped like the Alamo.

4. I will be binge watching The Good Wife TV series on Amazon Prime and painting with watercolors.

1. Yes, for about 10 years. My brother and I rented our parent's house to a buddy of his then sold it to him when he was able to get a homeowners loan.
2. I get the the cheapest possible.
3. I have a few books and Kitty and Bitsy, and a toy cupboard that an uncle made for me. (I'm 59).
4. No specific plans, just continue my futile attempt to organize the basement so I can have a fake classroom down there for remote teaching.

1. I am currently a landlord. When we downsized to a smaller house when dh was ill, we rented our former home to dd and her fiance. They are still living there, and it will be part of their inheritance from me eventually.

2. I try to get stuff that is in the middle range...not the cheapest, but not the extra high thread count Egyptian cotton, either.

3. I had a little doll crib, originally made for my mother by her grandfather, and a copy of A Child's Garden of Verses by Robert Louis Stevenson, beautifully illustrated...also once belonged to my mother. They now belong to Jai, although he is too young to enjoy them yet.

4. I will pick up my herb and berry CSA this morning. My gentleman friend has been on retreat all week...he is done Saturday at noon. Tomorrow we are meeting my kids for brunch in celebration of my upcoming birthday...and Spanish Mass in the evening.

1. Have you ever been a landlord?
DS and I own two houses. He handles all of the “landlordy” stuff.

2. When buying sheets and towels, do you splurge (and get a particular kind), or buy the cheapest available?
My go-to brand for both is Kirkland (Costco).

3. Do you still have any of your childhood books or toys?
I have a French grammar book. Can’t think of anything else.

4. What are your plans for this weekend?
Working at our shop ... maybe painting there.

1. I am a landlord, but thank goodness for fabulous property managers who do the actual work. I inherited my parents’ house (and their low property taxes) and enjoy the rental income.

2. I buy nice towels from Macy’s and Pottery Barn when they’re on sale. I love my cheap sheets from Wayfair.

3. No childhood toys/books.

4. This weekend: same old, same old. Walk with mask, stay home safely.

1) Parents were when I was born up until I was in HS.

2) Usually the cheapest of a quality that I'll accept.

3) Not really, I don't think. We moved when I was already 13, so only thing I can think of are every yearbook from kindergarten through college.

4) I try to stay low on weekends when crowds tend to be higher. I'm thinking of going to the San Diego Zoo one weekday next week.

1. No.
2. I definitely don't splurge. I try to find reasonably priced quality.
3. I have a few books in my classroom. My students get a speech about how old and special they are and surprisingly treat them like the treasure they are to me. My parents have a closet of my old toys at their house for my kids to play with.
4. Laundry. Always laundry. I still haven't done our taxes! And I have a new book to read. I will sweat it out in the backyard for awhile and hope for a breeze while I read.

1. Have you ever been a landlord?
The closest thing to that we had was that we co-owned a vacation condo in Arkansas (we live in Illinois). Our co-owner who does live in Arkansas, took care of the renting it out to different people for weekends and cleaning it in between visitors.

2. When buying sheets and towels, do you splurge (and get a particular kind), or buy the cheapest available?
I get an in between kind. Not the cheapest or the most expensive.

3. Do you still have any of your childhood books or toys?
I still have a blanket that my mom crocheted for me when I was 8 years old. I still use it.

4. What are your plans for this weekend?
Not much. My husband is driving for Uber. I stayed in and watched movies last night. I might do the same tonight.

No
2. When buying sheets and towels, do you splurge (and get a particular kind), or buy the cheapest available?
When buying sheets, I look for the best prices of the highest thread count I can afford. When buying towels, I buy the best ones I can afford when they go on sale.
3. Do you still have any of your childhood books or toys?
Yes, several
4. What are your plans for this weekend?
Yoga, junk journal making, reading

1. No.

2. I'm not very picky about towels. I just want a good enough quality that they'll last a while. I am a little pickier about sheets: I prefer cotton sheets and I want a decent thread count, although I won't spring for 1,000 thread count. I watch for good sales on Wamsutta.

3. I have some books and a table and chair. My uncle built the table and chair and later, after I had grown up, my mother repainted them and tole painted them with a beautiful strawberry design.

4. Our heat wave finally broke so, today is yardwork and housecleaning but tomorrow I'm planning to head a bit north and take a hike.

1. No

2. I go middle of the road. I'm not too picky about sheets, and high thread count ones make me sweat. I like good towels, but I don't like them to be too thick.

3. I have a tiny chair I used as a child. I also have my girl scout uniform. And an afghan that my grandmother knitted. I'm sure there are some other things I've stored and forgotten about.

4. A graduation party for DS's best friend (he's our neighbor and the parents are our good friends). Some housework and my SIL and BIL will come by for a little while later today.

1. Have you ever been a landlord?

Used to own a vacation home that I rented out to people I knew well.

2. When buying sheets and towels, do you splurge (and get a particular kind), or buy the cheapest available?

Sheets not so much. I do splurge on bath towels. Gotta be extra large and fluffy.

3. Do you still have any of your childhood books or toys?

No I moved across the country at 17 and left everything behind but clothes and music.

4. What are your plans for this weekend?

I got up earlier to get some water on the lawn. We are still having a lot of fireworks and it is really hot today. My big event is to order take out Thai food.

1. We were landlords when we couldn't sell our NY house and had to rent it out in 2011 because the market was so poor. I didn't like the stress of long-distance ownership. I think if we could find something nearby as an investment, that would be a different thing.

2. I buy middle of the road. I'm a middle of the road kind of gal - I want value for my money, but I don't want the cheap stuff.

3. I have a few things - a stuffed animal - it's practically bare. A cup I used as a kid, some books - I loved the Misty of Chincoteague books growing up and held on to those.

4. Rewatch Hamilton, some housework, try to figure out a new hobby? I'm bored this summer and that's never a good thing.

1. Have you ever been a landlord?
No, that sounds horrible.

2. When buying sheets and towels, do you splurge (and get a particular kind), or buy the cheapest available?
I buy the best ones available at the best price I can find.

3. Do you still have any of your childhood books or toys?
I kept all of my Barbies and my favorite dolls. All of my other toys were either tossed or given to my younger cousins. I have all of my Little Golden Books in storage and a few select novels that I use in my classroom.

4. What are your plans for this weekend?
Nothing. We are hanging out at home. Doing a little crafting.

1. Have you ever been a landlord?
I was going to say no, but then I remembered that I have been. Not because I wanted to, and I hated it.

2. When buying sheets and towels, do you splurge (and get a particular kind), or buy the cheapest available?
I don't splurge, but I got for something in the middle. I rarely buy those things. I like rough towels, so they tend to be fairly inexpensive- bonus! I like towels oversized.

3. Do you still have any of your childhood books or toys?
A few books. My brother destroyed most of my toys.

4. What are your plans for this weekend?
Work.

1. Have you ever been a landlord? Not me personally, but my grandma rented out her childhood home for awhile. She was the landlord and she lived 3.5 hours away, but my family lived in less than 5 miles away, so as a young kid, we would have to stop by sometimes to check on things, etc.
2. When buying sheets and towels, do you splurge (and get a particular kind), or buy the cheapest available? I tend to by the cheapest, but the cheapest that I like vs. the cheapest available. I don't mind paying a little more if I like it, but I like say 3 choices, I go with the cheapest.
3. Do you still have any of your childhood books or toys? Yes! I have pretty much all of my books, although some I put in various classroom libraries I've had over the years. I have some toys, too, especially board games. For the longest time, I had a Fisher Price doll house, kitchen set, and washer/dryer/ironing board, but we ended up donating those because they took up too much space. I miss them, though!
4. What are your plans for this weekend? Not much! Today I went to the Y in the morning. Then I read and napped, went to church, and picked up a pizza for dinner. Tomorrow I will probably walk outside, spend some time reading, help my grandma do some things around her house, and then I have a Google Meet with my 2 year old niece at 4!

1. Have you ever been a landlord? No and don't ever want to !

2. When buying sheets and towels, do you splurge (and get a particular kind), or buy the cheapest available? Sheets, yeah, towels, not so much.

3. Do you still have any of your childhood books or toys? No

4. What are your plans for this weekend? We ended up bicycling, swimming spent a little time on the beach, got carry out and I went shopping for a little while today.
