I will be teaching 5 th grade next year, I need some suggestions for book studies to do with my kids. Any suggestions? I have some ideas but I must also include common core. Thanks!

We did Bridge to Terabithia this year and the kids absolutely loved it. There was SO much we could do to respond to this book, so many themes, social issues, talking points...it was fabulous.

Did you do these as "book clubs" ? Or did you have the entire class reading the same book at the same time? My vision is to have 3-4 different book studies going on at the same time. With 3-4 students per group. My classes are 1 1/2 long to teach all the language arts components. Thank you for the input so far!
