Title 1 Math Interview

I have an interview for a Title 1 Math Support Teacher next week and was wondering if anyone has any advice for me. I have taught first and second grade multi-age for one year and at the school I was at, we didn't have a Title 1 Math Teacher. Does anyone know what kind of questions I might be asked? I really don't know much about the program, but think it would be a great opportunity. How do you set up small groups and what kind of assessments and strategies do you use? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

That is the same question I came here to ask. Hopefully someone will answer it for us.

I just finished interviewing for a postion and got it!!
Some questions asked were:
Why do you love math?
How do you feel about paperwork? (There's a lot--I'm already finding out)
Do you enjoy presenting? (Our Title teachers do workshops)
How would you handle conflict with a teacher regarding a student?
What do struggling math students need most? (I answered confidence, etc.)
How do you incorporate technology?
And then the typical questions, your strengths, weaknesses, etc.
Hope this helps! I am very excited about my new position. Good luck!

Good luck to those of you who are interviewing and congrats to you who just got a job!

I am a Title I reading and math teacher. One of the questions I would ask would pertain to your knowledge of math standards. In our district we adhere pretty closely to the standards so that would be important. We are also trying to build up our parental involvement so having some fresh ideas about that area might help.

Our district has not had Title I support help for a number of years but then our scores starting slipping and since we have not met AYP for 2 years we are adding math back into the mix. We have found that our students need lots of work with basic facts but I also noticed that the math RTI students I had did not know how to read graphs and interpret data so that's one thing that I know I'll be working on. If I was involved in interviews, those are some topics I would be asking about. The other ideas listed were great as well.

Let us know if you get the job and don't hesitate to ask questions of your interviewers.
