This is my first year as a GT teacher. I'll be teaching reading and math to GT kids in grades 1-4. Does anyone have suggestions for decorating my bulletin boards?

How about brainteasers? Trivia challenges? Word plexers?

Bulletin board ideas...

Clip to ScrapBook #4

I found the greatest set of books from Tin Man Press (you can order directly off their website)- there are 2 books called The Great Unbored Bulletin Board Books. I have gotten tons of awesome ideas from there- the one I used this past week was "The Cotton Ball". Glue a cotton ball in a random place on a piece of drawing paper (I used the large manilla sheets, but any size will do). The kids have to create a picture around the cotton ball, using it somehow in their design, but they can't move it or take any part of it away. I glued the cottonballs in different places on each paper so they looked different. After they drew and colored their pictures- I had them write me a story about their picture. It makes a GREAT bulletin board, and it shows off their artsy and word wise side! :-)
