2 wks spring break, 1 day back, then TCAP!

Due to the weather our county choose to delay our TCAP's (state assessment) until after we get back from spring break. This school calendar year, they had already decided for us to give the students their tcap's two weeks earlier than in the past...translated 2 weeks less to teach! Then we were out for snow a total of 10 days...now 4 weeks less teaching time. So, they felt the best option was to give us an extra two weeeks to teach, then 2 weeks off for spring break. We return on Monday, then tcap testing will begin the next day. We pushed it as far back as possible.

So, my question for you my wonderful friends....how would you spend your Monday? What do you think would be the most productive way to spend the day??

I agree with the PP... encourage, build up, review games!

Did you get the TCAP prep book?

Go over the TCAP prep book. Do it again Monday even if you've already gone over every question before--if they're like my students, they'll have forgotten the answers. I'd skip the reading test and go over math, science, and social studies. Choose the most difficult questions and discuss the answers and the distractors. Make every item a learning experience.

If you don't have the prep book, go online and download the item sampler. There's a lot of good-for-them-to-see questions there!

I already sent the book home with my students before break. If you come up with any good ideas or games, would you mind sending them to me? I'm in the exact situation as you

I went online and printed one copy of the item sampler. I then cut the questions apart and we played scoot using questions straight from the item sampler.

Scoot is a game I learned about here on Proteacher. Type Scoot into the search box and you'll find directions and a template.

I found several posts, but only 1 referring to scoot. That post only said they play it, but it doesn't explain directions.
