I am going to the teacher store tomorrow (the closest one is 2 hours away so this is a big deal!).

I need to get everything I want in one trip, except I have not decided on a theme yet!

Any ideas? What has been your favorite you've ever done?

I currently have a jungle theme. I like it because it is easy to find things to add to it.

In the past I have had:

Fish/Tropical
Bee
Frog

All of those were fairly easy to buy things for. Since I don't want to make all of my own things that is important to me. I like being able to buy the small monkeys to write my students names on for the self-portrait board. I don't want to have to make new ones each year. I don't change mine every year because I just can't afford to!!!

Here are pictures of my room. Note the password under the link:

The shutterfly password is "teacher"

Thanks for sharing Bucket . I like your room a lot. I am going to steal your shower curtain idea.

Cowtipper: I used owls last year so I plan to keep them and add some other forest friends. I "calmed down" my colors (using soft brown paper with white wavy trim on my bulletin boards) last year to see if it would help calm down a very high energy group of kids. I like it that way and plan to do a little more calming this year (baskets instead of primary colored tubs etc.) Previously I did an Eric Carle theme which I loved, but it was busy and bright in my small classroom.

I am doing pirates this year and I am excited to try something new instead of circling back through my old ones! I know I'm going to have more boys than girls this year so I wanted something to interest them.

In the past I have done:
ocean (my favorite there's tons of stuff out there for it too)
movies
circus
frogs

Have fun shopping!

This year I'm doing a western/rodeo theme. Last year I did a rock-n-roll theme and the year before I did the circus. I loved all three themes. If you want some ideas on them, just let me know.

Thanks! The train is our daily schedule. It has pictures of the students participating in each activity.
