100 Day is coming up soon for us. I'm looking for some new activities. We have done 100 day hats, 100 day treasure hunt from Dr. Jean, what would you buy with $100, draw 100 yr. old self, want/not want 100 of something, what can you make with 100 blocks/cubes, etc., 100 day necklaces and we have the students create something to wear with 100 on it.

Anyone have any other fun activities? (We are not allowed to do activities w/ food anymore).

We made capes this year - I got the idea from Pinterest. I just bought vinyl tablecloths at the dollar store and cut them up (I think 2'x3'?), so it cost about $4 for a class set. Then we wore them for our 100 day parade around school. It was really cute! Other than that I think we just did what you have listed. We had two different times with rotations, and then if they were finished early they had the 100 day "challenges" they could try - building something with 100 legos, stacking 100 pennies, etc.

I'm not sure what I am going to do this year but in previous years I have done the following:

-make a hundreds chart - using a pocket chart. Have the numbers from 1-100 on cue cards (I would make them in a pattern ie: all the numbers that end in a 7 one colour, all the numbers that end in a 5 one colour etc). I just throw them on the floor and say "make a hundreds chart" then I watch what happens. I do have 2 hundreds charts posted in classroom for them to reference.

-When they have "made" the chart, we count by 2s, 5s and 10s (a grade 1 objective in my province).

-make a 100 book. pages 1-10 are numbers 1-10 and the next pages increase by 10's.
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100
We use stamps and stickers to complete the pages. I either made the book myself or got it for free on teacherspayteachers.com

-I got a "i'm 100 days smarter" headbands off of TPT also. You attach the little sign to a sentence strip and it becomes a crown/headband

-write the room - 100 words

- 100 things place mat (10 piles of 10 items on one mat)

I can't think of anymore but you should do a search in the k-2 board, there should be some different things, maybe even links to activities. Also, don't forget to pinterest 100 days of school too.

I appreciate your responses. I'm just getting a little bored doing the same old, same old. I did do a search on PT and will check Pinterest. I got our cute hats off there last year. We'll be doing those again this year. It'll be a fun day for the students, no matter what.

They cut them out of different colored construction paper(I had drawn five sizes - lg to small) and then we attached them to ribbon and hung them in the rm so we could count by 5's to 100. We had our 100th day on Jan. 23rd so this was a way to decorate for Feb. We did some of the things that have been suggested, too. Oh, we did color handprints with the number below on a square so we could attach above our window and also, count by fives.

I have seen 100 hearts with each heart giving a reason why K/or the school is so much fun.
