Smart kid!

Clip to ScrapBook #1

Things were a bit chaotic for a while yesterday (fourth grade)... and once the tattling and arguments start it can be hard to call a halt. So I declared over the din, "I do not want to hear any arguing and I do not want to hear any tattling unless someone is hurt or bleeding."

A kid off in the distance called back, "Mr. B -- What if my feelings are hurt?"

The resulting laughter calmed the class and we got back to work.

Smart kid. Humor can be very effective!

Yes, some of their comments can be very cute. I came home last Friday and told my family jokingly, "No tattling this weekend on anyone! I can't take anymore!"

And MaineSub: in a previous discussion, I did not take your advice to be accusatory. Any advice is welcome.
