I'm finding 35-38 students is about an average size class.

I teach 6th and have 35 in my regular section and 39 in my honors section. That is pretty much my numbers every year.

I sub in high school science only. Classes are limited to 24, but in my school they are usually around 20. It's a luxurious situation, for sure.

In the area I am, I notice that the farther I am from an inner city core area, the more students there are.

Wow that is a lot!

When I sub middle school or high school class sizes are generally about half that. Only classes that are that big are some music classes and I avoid those.

For many years my 7th and 8th grade classes had 35 kids each.

We finally got another teacher, so now my classes are between 20-28.

We have had up to 40 in a class.

Subbing at the high school, I have been in classes of 15 up to 30ish. Middle school classes, except for honors' classes (fewer students) are between 25 and 30. That's a LOT of 7th grade hormones in one classroom! And those are the largest classes. The 7th grade class is the smallest class in the building at just under 150 students, so there are only 5 core teachers. Which means large classes. UGH!

I subbed for some poor English teacher and they have given her at least 41 kids in all of her classes. One was 45 kids and they barely fit in the room.

Ms around here is 35 as the average. Hs can be a little smaller. I think they just have more teachers at those.

I never see classes with 35 students. I think the most I have seen is 32 and that is unusual. The average is probably 22-25.

I sub in MS. I had a math class with 4 students in it.
Most of the classes have between 20-24. Almost each teacher has one class of near thirty.
