Attire for interview...

Hello,

I have an interview for a middle school art position on Tuesday. I shaved my beard and got a haircut to look nice and clean for the interview. Should I wear a suit or is a nice button down shirt and a tie sufficient?

that you are really trying your best for this. Are you familiar with the school that you are applying? Do you know how the men usually dress? I would say that a nice shirt, tie and pants would do the job. I really don't think a suitcoat is needed. Also please do not wear strong cologne. I was on an interview committee ,and one on the applicants wore such strong cologne, I could not wait to get him out of there. Maybe look up the school site and you might see pictures of teachers to get an idea of how they dress. Good luck on you interview.

I think a nice button down shirt with tie and nice pants is sufficient, but a suit wouldn't be a bad choice. IMO, it is way better to be overdressed than underdressed for an interview.

Good luck!

I would wear a suit if I were you. If and when you get the job, then you can dress like the other teachers. Good luck, by the way! Let us know how it goes.

I would wear whichever makes you feel comfortable. Interviews are nervewracking enough without worrying about sweating too much because of a suit coat or sweatspots underarm that don't have a coat to hide them.. As long as you are dressed proffessionally and are comforable then your personality can shine through.
