Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hello everyone.

Okay I need some help. Next year I am moving up to teach Pre-K and there is a great chance I could be teacing a few of my kiddos now again. I am so excited, but I really want to change things up. I teach a a private preschool and everyone does alot of the same boring things. I need a few songs, so if anyone has any songs or ideas where I can look that would be awesome.

I need a song for:

Circle Time- to start it off like a welcome to circle or something

Days of the week- I have a few but I would like something new

Month of the year-anything different.

Lunch/Snack time song- we do open and shut them now and I HATE IT!!

End of the Day- Closing circle song to say goodbye.

I have looked at quite a few websites but I cannot find words to any of the song I want/need. If anyone can be of help it would be AWESOME!

Thanks so much!
Kylee

Personally, my kids love the Greg & Steve CD's. They have songs for all of the items you mentioned and they are pretty easy, catchy tunes that the kids pick up on quickly.

There is also a website called songsforteaching.com that has a lot of fun songs for different learning concepts.

I used to do a welcome to circle song, I'm not sure what tune it is but the words are

Welcome to circle today everybody!
Welcome to circle today.
We say Hello, Hello to everybody!
Welcome to circle today!
Hi friends!

I also have heard other teachers (in the hallway) doing the name song where they call out the child's name and say jump up and down.

I was thinking of doing a song that I found online, my theme is Western/Texas, it's called "Howdy Song".

I don't have anything for lunch/snack we do "God our Father" but I would REALLY like to find something new for Fall.

I have used the "Weather Watcher" song in the past but it got old fast.

I find that you have to change things up a bit or it gets old really fast.

Good luck!!!

I use a variety of songs for my circle time. As the previous poster mentioned I use alot of Greg an Steve songs during circle time. Dr. jean works well also. Most of the Greg and Steve songs I use are from the 6 CD set. I cannot remember the name, it's at school and I don't pla on going back there until September. I can get you the exact names of the songs in September however.

Here is what I use:

Circle time
Good morning by Stacy Buehler

Days of the week
(sung to the tune of The Adams Family)
Days of the week (snap, snap)

Days of the week (snap, snap)

Days of the week, days of the week, days of the week (snap, snap)

There's Sunday and there's Monday,
There's Tuesday and there's Wednesday,
There's Thursday and there's Friday,
and then there's Saturday.

Days of the week (snap, snap)

Months of the year
Months of the year by Rhythm and School (it's on an Album called playground crunk)

Lunch/Snack
Nothing special

End of the day
Goodbye by Stacy Buehler

I found all these songs on iTunes

I pretty much use Dr. Jean songs for all of the above. :-) She has a cd called All Day Long that has songs for all those things.

I went on I-tunes and bought a copy of Roy Rogers "Happy Trails To You" and burned it on a CD for my end of the day song. It has such a sweet up-beat message, and the kids learned it very quickly. The parents all join in as they pick their kids up from circle. It's become our trade-mark song!

Circle Time Song / End of day song

Clip to ScrapBook #11

Circle Time:
to the tune of Fere Jacques

"Hello PreK
Hello PreK
How are you?
How are you?
We're so glad to have you.
We're so glad to have you,
Here at school
Here at school."

End of Day:
"Oh its time to say good bye to our friends
Oh its time to say good bye to our friends
Oh its time to say good bye , so just smile and wink your eye
Oh its time to say good bye to our friends!"

Dr. Jean has a really cute good bye song on her "Kiss Your Brain" cd, too. I usually play that one if its been an exceptionally great day.
