Has anyone read "The Book Whisperer?" If so, would you recommend it for use in a Literacy Studio or Reader's Workshop? Have you used it? If so, how, and how effective was it?

I keep getting this recommendation on my online book list and have been wondering if other have found it engaging and useful.

You might want to check out the Book Whisperer discussions in the Upper Elementary Daily 5 group. We've been talking about it all summer.

I loved the book. I am now in the process of sitting down and re-planning the way I have my language arts block set up for the fall.

Thank you for your positive comment, SnackNapRead! I will order it now. When you get your reorganized LA block finished, would you mind sharing? I am in the midst of redoing my yearlong curriculum guide! If you'd like to send privately, let me know and I'll send you my email. Thanks again for your great review!

If you don't mind, would you mind sending your new process for language arts to me? I have read the book and would love to see how others are applying the info.

Thanks!

What a great book. Last summer my grade level went book shopping together, we all read this book. Enjoy I have bookmarked everything and plan to reread for my 5th grade class this coming year. Very helpful.
