I am so excited, yet a little scared, to be moving to PreK this coming school year! I will be teaching at a school that I worked as a PreK assistant many years ago. I know it should feel familiar, but that was so long ago and the majority of my experience is in 2nd grade. I sure hope that once I start setting up my classroom, the ideas will start coming to me!

So excited to finally be able to post on this board!!

I'm SO excited and feel like I should be making stuff for centers while I have some time. I have purchased a couple things-at the Dollar Tree, there were 24 piece puzzles called "hug a Bug", each one made a picture of a bug. My favorite was the ladybug, but there is also a bee, a butterfly and a snail. I'm going to open the boxes and color the back side of each puzzle piece so if one gets left out when cleaning up, we will know where to put it. I think I will cut the picture off the front of the box and store them in quart size baggies, because the boxes aren't that sturdy. Hope that inspires some of you....it made me feel better to actually do something...silly I know! Can't wait to share with you guys

I also will be teaching PreK this fall. I taught first grade for 7 years, and will teach full day PreK. Does anyone have lesson plans they can share for those first few weeks of school! I feel as if I am still in first grade mode, so I am not quite sure where to start!!

I am new to teaching and to Pre-K. Ihave always subbed for 4th or 5th . This is all so new to me. I think I am most nervous about the first day - setting up routine, expectations, rules and mgt,not knowing the kids that well. I will have 9 students including 5 EC students.. 2 assistants.... We use creative curricuclum.. Any sugeestions?
