I work at a very small Catholic school. The teachers have been given an anonymous donation for technology in the classroom. We have 6 teachers on staff, 4 want to get smartboards. Initially, I thought so, too, but feel like they may be a passing fad, plus our high ceilings are not conducive to hooking up a projector, so it would have to be put on a table in the middle of the room. Does anyone have suggestions as to what and how you use technology in your classroom...I'm thinking of ipads, laptop and projector combo, etc. BTW, I have approx. $1600 to spend. Ideas, please! Thanks in advance.

First, they have projectors that don't hook to the ceiling. None of the ones in our building do. It's on an arm that comes out from the wall. Second, I think SmartBoards cost more than $1600.

Do you have a laptop in your room? If so, I would bypass that and get a couple iPads instead OR what about a projector and document camera. We've had document cameras for over a year but finally got a tutorial this year and I love that thing!

BTW, we have Aver brand document cameras.
