Clip to ScrapBook #1

Hi Everyone

I have $300.00 to spend. What are some items that you have found essential to the K curriculum? I have a Smartboard, document camera, but want to find something else for the class. Any thoughts??
Thanks
Jan

Do you have the Acti-votes that can be used with the smartboard?
My students love to use them and you can tell in one test who understands the concept and who doesn't.

The things we use on a regular basis and I couldn't live without are:
  • class set of white boards, markers & erasers
  • magnetic letters (we have the huge set from Lakeshore)
  • guided reading sets
  • subscription to readinga-z
  • math manipulatives
  • pocket charts for calendar, class schedule, jobs, etc.
  • art supplies - paint, brushes, cups, oil pastels, artists chalk, markers, colored pencils, watercolors, paper
  • listening center & books
  • magnatiles and legos
I love technology and all of the extras but could live without them.

But what has made my life 1000x better this year has been investing in some organizational supplies. I can now open my cupboards and find exactly what I need when I need it, because everything is organized and labeled. It makes me so happy! And I bought some fantastic shelves with tubs from Ikea for the kid's free art area (the creation station). They LOVE it, and I love that everything is organized and easy for them to use and put away.

If I had money to spend today I would buy a new cart for my document camera (ours is huge and horrible), an apple tv, or a new 4-way easel to replace our two that are falling apart.
