I was driving across Texas late last night, and I knew that I'd be home today, and somewhere on I-40 the app went off, and I took a 6th grade class two states away, (I drive a truck when I'm not subbing, or more accurately I sub when I'm not driving a truck) in a school I'd never subbed in before. (obviously in my regular district) It was a great day, I'm glad he called in early. the system does not call till 6am, which is late by my standards, but I had my app set earlier, and it got me a great class.

I got to meet some really nice 6th graders and explain seasons and axis and make fun of Bill Nye, it does not get any better than that...

Whd, I read your post 6 times, and I wonder if I got it right. You were in Texas (next time, stop and say “howdy!” ), but your district is two states away.

Sounds like you’re a good multi-tasker. Glad you enjoyed the class. I can’t stand Bill Nye, either. Ugh!!

You don't have to hate Bill Nye to make fun of him! I think his videos are funny, but corny. Don't like the music videos at the end though.

Until I get a full time teaching job, I have to drive a semi to pay the bills. but I try to sub every day I'm home long enough to get any class time in. Hopefully I'll have a job lined up for next school year. trucking pays 3x what teaching does, but I'd rather be teaching.
