I'm being observed for a big stupid award. There will be a team parked in my room, observing. I do two letters a week and they will be there for letters Ll and Cc. I don't think the craftsy things I have for either letter are really wow-worthy. What do you do that you think it really amazing?

THANK YOU!

Do I get points for that??

Letter C

handprint crabs; (scroll down) https://www.themeasuredmom.com/crafts-for-letter-c/

C is for car.... use a matchbox car and roll it down the letter C road, using ink or paint on the tires.

Yep, I don't teach any more... too messy??

I might be too late to help you, but this is what I do:

A puffy caterpillar in the shape of a C. I trace them, and the kids cut out. (you know, like you trace little C's around to form one side of the caterpillar, and then go up, to create the letter C.

I suppose they could color an AB pattern (sort of like you might do on a snake) after cutting it out.

I love reading the book Clara Caterpillar by Pamela Duncan Edwards to the kids for the letter C, also.

for letter L

I truly appreciate all the suggestions. This is what I decided to go with:

For this, I give students differently sized squares they need to round off to make the circles/ovals to make the prickly pear cactus (they grow everywhere here).

A hole punch and scraps of red papers for the berries, and draw with glue, sprinkle sand for the ground, and finally tongs of a fork dipped in green paint for the spines.

I wanted something that shows open-ended, kid produced (i.e., not cutting something out of a ditto), with fine motor thrown in, plus following directions, spatial skills (how to arrange the pieces, etc).

Cross fingers for me!
