I'm teaching a class this summer and I need to find a brain game- one that is hands-on, not on the internet. I've searched and searched, but with no luck. Does anyone know of anything? I've looked on the destination imagination site, but can't find where they might have activities listed. help!!

Does this game have to be a teacher-made game, or can it be a purchased one?

I made some this year for my second graders that were like the Sudoku puzzles. I used square stickers. The puzzles consisted of 16 squares in all, 4 rows, 4 columns, 4 different pictures. They had to arrange them like a Sudoku puzzle. (No picture twice in the same row or column.) I guess you could make it bigger and harder with more pictures.

For a purchased game, you might look at Mind Ware's website. I ordered a couple of things from there.

I love thinkfun .. they are hands on and make the kids think of strategies to use to solve problems. I love that they teach perseverance and strategy.

Here is a website you can print the perplexers and make cards out of them. You can come up will all kind of games to play using them. To check the answers click on the problem. http://www.joe-ks.com/outside/Outsid...Box_Puzzle.htm

They like those 4D puzzles of animals, dionosaurs, etc that they have to put together. Mindware sells them, here's a link
