We took the Florida plunge!

On Jan 5 we set out on what was supposed to be a yearlong RV trip. We headed south for the winter and when summer came we were supposed to go to Canada and then make our way to Colorado and on. Covid hit and we quickly went through plans B, C, D, and all the way to plan WTF. To make a very long story short my nephew, who was renting my house, offered to buy it so we would be free to buy in Florida. With all of the uncertainty, we thought we really needed a home.

Dh has always dreamed of retiring in Florida so we had spent the winter criss-crossing the state in search of a place where we would both be happy. He had a list of communities to look at. We ended up liking a community that wasnít even on his list and we found by driving past it on the way back from the beach. As soon as we had an agreement of sale with my nephew we made a quick trip back to Florida to find a house in the neighborhood we liked. We looked at the 5 in our price range and chose one.

So, in the sweltering July heat, we moved to Ormond Beach. We ride bikes or take long walks every day. I get to soak in a tub and dh has endless amounts of ice for his drinks. For the first time in months we are sleeping through the night!

Ormond Beach is our favorite FL beach!!!! Congrats to you! We had a Florida vacation planned this summer that included a week at Ormond. Due to COVID, it didn't happen. Enjoy the beach and the waves. ❤

We will definitely travel again. One reason Iím looking forward to living in Florida is because we can focus on traveling to National and state parks. Before our travels focused on Florida, Colorado, and places along the way.

I had to giggle at 'plan WTF'!
Sounds like you've already had some adventures!
You and 'amiga13' will soon be able to swap 'living by the beach' stories... from opposite coasts!
Have a great time!

WELCOME not only to FL, but to my area! I am in Port Orange, really just down the road from you by about 20 minutes! Our oldest son and his wife live in Ormond Beach, on the mainland side, W. of U.S. 1 off Airport Rd.! Sorry you have ended up though in the current epicenter of Covid 19 during hurricane season ! Seriously, I hope you continue to enjoy living here in the area and if you ever want to meet up, either outdoors somewhere or after Covid, I'm game!
