Just got ask to teach privately

I got a private message from a prior grandparent to teach "a couple kids" in her home one day a week. I wonder if this will be the new wave, teachers being asked to come into homes and teach a handful of kids privately.

Yes, it is happening! Especially on affluent areas.

Yes, it is the new thing for those who can afford it. I've been reading about it happening in different parts of the country. Families or groups of families will form a "pod" of students for educational purposes.

My SIL will be overseeing a pod of students while they are being taught online by their regular teachers.

This is happening in my area with tons of families right now,

Honestly, if I could afford it and didn’t need my health coverage I would take a leave of absence and do it in a heartbeat.

(In my district we can take a year absence, unpaid, pay for health insurance out of pocket and retain our position at our same school for the following year)

Yes.

It is called “pods”. Families gathering their kids together & having them being monitored or taught for Virtual school.
