I'm not on the list, but I could see myself doing some of these things!

I had an “ashes of problem students” jar on my desk for years. One year kids started writing names on little slips of paper and putting them in the jar when someone got in trouble.

I’ve said “No more secs!” to my own kids without thinking, after they ask for “one more sec”!

I was gifted one of those Ashes of Problem Students urns, but I think I put it in a garage sale or something. The clipping of the toenails made me want to gag!!!

I might have to start doing/saying some of those. Very clever - I love the 'fraid knot!

At the beginning of my first year of teaching, I was told by a veteran teacher not to erase the board sideways, only up and down, because if you erase it sideways, your tail end moves in a "suggestive manner." I thought his advice was silly, but for all my many, many years of teaching, I thought of it every time I erased the board, no matter which way I erased it. And I'll bet that many of you who still use a blackboard or whiteboard will think of this from now on, too - it's a real "ear worm" (or maybe it's a "mind worm"??)
