It recently came to my attention that my Gentleman Friend has not been able to go to the laundromat (because they are closed) since Covid. Yes, that would be since last March, ten months. I asked him what he was doing about his laundry.

So, apparently, when he takes a bath or shower, he washes out his clothes in the tub at the same time. He says his system works so well that he figures he’ll never go back to the laundromat again.

I offered my washing machine and dryer. He declined.

I’m just shaking my head. Somehow he always looks clean, neat, and well put together....but seriously? What is he thinking? Clearly he’s been a bachelor far too long.

Back in the day I remember guys being so surprised at their pink underwear. That happens when you put your madras plaid shorts in with the rest of your clothes.

But, they closed laundromats!! Ours are open with occupancy limits.
I can’t imagine having a couple of kids with no home laundry and no laundromats.

This is what I'm wondering too! Laundromats seem extremely essential to me. My first apartment didn't have a washer/dryer and I had to use laundromats or do one load at a time in the tiny apartment complex laundry room. HATED it. Ever since then, an in home washer/dryer has been a non-negotiable for anywhere I've lived.

I'm glad he's happy with his solution, but I feel so badly for all of those people who have nowhere to do laundry!

I know the laundromats closed during the early shut down. They may have reopened, probably with limits as to how many people are there at once, but the one in our town closed for good. Likely he doesn't feel safe now going to do his laundry, since we are not so young.

I cannot imagine. How can laundry mats close? That is essential I would think.

Our laundry mat is open even though we are still supposed to be sheltering in place . It is very very clean and follows all
protocols . We are lucky.
