Thanks for posting this. I had heard about it but did not concern myself with it too much yet. However, this really changes things a lot for teachers who looked forward to the bargains that Staples offered to us as educators. Oh well!! I don't think I will be shopping there this school year! Thanks again for the heads-up.

Thank you for the heads up. This is a real bummer knowing how much we already have to spend out of our pockets to get through a school year. I guess this year I will be shopping at other stores.

I saw that too & pinned it on Pinterest... makes me not want to go to Staples at all anymore!!! Hopefully they are reading the posts. I usually spend a couple of hundred there each back to school.

Although BTS is oh so far away from my mind, this is so disappointing. I was one of those crazies who stood outside of Staples on several Sunday mornings waiting for them to open the doors so I could stock up on supplies for my students. Not anymore! I'll be going back to Target and Walmart.

The other problem with this policy is that it looks like it would just limit you to 25 total of whatever product. I don't know about you, but I have more than 25 students. So if I needed 30 pocket folders, I'd but 25 on sale today and go back tomorrow for more. Now I think the rewards rebate will probably only allow 25 max. At least that's how I'm reading it.

I know the manager of my local Staples last year said that they couldn't afford to continue the sales unless teachers spent a lot more during the year at the store. Hmm. Not sure I can continue to buy there at all! I guess I can do what I've done before and round up my DH, DD, DS, MIL, & FIL and head to Staples so we can each buy our limit of 5. Then I will owe them brunch. Perhaps that doesn't save me any money in the long run but we try to make a fun morning of it!

Although disappointing to those of us who took advantage of the deals staples offered, I completely understand their point of view.

Last year was the first time I shopped at Staples for BTS supplies. I think this year I will go back to using Target, Walmart, Office Depot and Office Max. I don't like the change in Staples policy, I would rather save the money in my checkbook not get staples rewards!
SO thanks for the heads up on this change :-)

I work at a very low income school and I usually only have about 5-6 kids each year that bring their supplies. Buying them at low prices helped me to provide for all of those other ones. I do not know what I will do for them now. I have kids of my own and can't spend extreme amounts on my class.
