Power Point backgrounds?

On TpT, teachers create a lot of things in PowerPoint with colorful patterned backgrounds. How do you do it? I always see the chevron, flowers, patterns, etc. I do not see those as design options though. What am I doing wrong?

I just learned how to do this! I did a search on youtube. This is a good tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkwowUUOqT0

That's all I know how to do for now. This summer I'm supposed to be teaching myself how to make all those cute TpT-like products.

This inspires me to try to make my own clip art and digital paper.
