Last night my family decided we are going to visit DC during Spring Break. I'm looking for recommendations on a hotel near DC that is cheap and makes it easy to get into the city without having to drive your own car.

TIA!

My husband and I stayed in Alexandria, VA while visiting DC. This hotel in the link is not fancy at all. But....it is reasonably priced, clean, and close to the transit. We drove the short distance to the transit station, and then rode the transit into DC each day. Very easy! This hotel is also close to Old Alexandria.

Enjoy your visit to DC

I recommend the Americana Hotel in Arlington. This hotel has free parking for your car, something other hotels charged for. The rooms have wifi and cable. There is a continental breakfast. The Metro is two blocks away inside a shopping center. Have fun in DC!

I don't have any specific hotel recommendations, but I suggest staying in VA and not DC. You will pay more in DC. You can stay in Alexandria/Arlington and ride the metro to anywhere in DC. I would not drive in DC.
Good luck and have fun!

Both of those places have some good prices! I always thought there was no such thing as a decent rate near DC. Thanks for sharing.
