Gall bladder is out!

My surgeon said it was literally packed with stones, so they had to make one incision bigger to get it out. I have 3 other incisions but that bigger one is the only one that hurts. I had to sleep sitting up last night but otherwise with pain meds it wasn't too bad. I can already tell an improvement in pain from yesterday to today. One other thing I hadn't expected was that I've been hungry! I ate yesterday but kept it really light and bland...will probably branch out a bit today with foods while I'm at home. I'm off through Monday. Everyone told me how bad gas would be and that also hasn't been bad at all. I do have one sore spot on my right shoulder that comes and goes, but that's it.

So glad I went ahead and got this taken care of especially since it was so full of stones. Thanks for all the PT advice and encouragement!

Pain relief is wonderful! Glad you are on the mend.

I'm hoping my right side pain is gall bladder so I can get some reflief, too!

Just be aware you may have to push a little. Pain was my only symptom other than fatigue and a low grade fever and my regular doctor wanted to dismiss it as muscular. Push for an ultrasound if you need to!

It's amazing how you feel well again immediately after the surgery! I'm glad that you're doing well, but don't forget that you did just have surgery and you need time to rest and recover! (And yes, I realize that I'm the pot calling the kettle black on that one!)

Sounds like you did the right thing. I too had my gall bladder removed. You will feel better and better. Rest and take care.
