3rd Day Off

Power is back in all our schools, but many roads are still closed and wires are down in many places. While it's nice to have this time to catch up on work at home, I'm hoping for very little snow this winter or summer vacation may never arrive.

We have no power at our school or the town. Most everyone is out of power. Many roads still have trees/branches down and wires hanging. I'm wondering if the days will be waived..........like they did during the Ice Storm of 98? This is much worse. So much more destruction!!

We had school today. We have two schools in our district that do not have power, but the teachers had to report to other buildings to have a work day - students were able to stay home.

DD is home again today. I think the school has power, but there are some roads that are still not passable and the road commissioner did not want the buses on the roads.

I know the feeling. A few years ago, we unexpectedly had two full weeks off in November due to Sandy. At first, it was okay, and my house got really clean. But then I was dying to get back to work and back into the groove.

Hope you get back soon.

We were surprised by this, but when we were hit by Irma our district was closed for 5 days. They took a teacher duty day and a staff development day, took away all early release Wednesdays in January (1 hour each Wednesday) and forgave the rest! Maybe they will do similar for you.
