We are usually off next week but it is the following week for us this year. That is just as well as the past 5 years I have gone to AZ to visit my folks who winter there. I am coming down with something nasty today so would not want to bring it to them this weekend anyway.

We're off today, Monday, and Tuesday for winter break - only three days this year. We usually get a week.

Me! Me! Me! In fact, I was off for three days this week because my hubby had shoulder replacement surgery. Extra long break for me!

Enjoy! The ONLY winter break I know of personally is aka Christmas vacation. For President's Day, it's only a 3 or 4-day weekend (with the weekend included in there).

I was off yesterday and today and will be also on Monday. It's a good thing that I had not made travel plans, as I have been spending my days at the hospital with my dad and transporting my mom back and forth. But it is all good.

My first district used to get an entire week for President's Day. I haven't had that since. Most of the teachers actually complained about it...they thought it was too much missed instruction. I wasn't complaining .

Enjoy your winter break! We get Monday off, so a nice 3 day weekend. I'd take 9 days, though!

Our spring break is coming up (3rd week in March). I am ready for it!

We had conferences Wednesday and Thursday, and we were off today, and will be off Monday for Presidents' Day.

I'm so grateful for this week off to recharge. After a short Christmas break of 6 days, I really needed this one. And with this past week of Mardi Gras, Valentine's Day on the 13th because of Ash Wednesday, Ash Wednesday Mass and lent beginning, and the 100th day, I'm beyond exhausted. This vacation was well earned!

When I taught in NY state, we always had a winter break, and when I started in my present district in NJ, we did, as well. Then, a contract negotiation added days to the calendar, and it was shortened to 4 days. Now, the teachers get three days and the students four. We are stuck with a PD day on Tuesday. We have had a lot of illness, and could have used the break to air out the building. The break was originally instituted when there was an energy crisis a long time ago, to save money on heat. To those of you who are off all week, enjoy.
