Bathroom After Photos
Old 01-22-2020, 02:28 PM

Only thing left is outlet covers, which are on order b/c I ordered black.

Just before this, I posted photos of the OLD Bathroom, only two pics.

I posted seven photos of the NEW bathroom on this thread, but one by one. .

Fabulous! See, it was worth kissing that toad. The whole room is gorgeous and I love your faucets at your sinks. So simple, yet beautiful.

Whispering: do you want a suggestion or are you soooooo done?

September, was taking forever, took money, and then it turns out he did extremely substandard work that was not up to code and all had to be ripped out and done over. But these guys did a magnificent job in just one week.

Well, sorry to hear that contractor #1 was so lame. Did you get your money back?

Glad to hear the new guys were so much better.

Kinda bummed there is not a kissing story in there somewhere, though

I love your colors. Maybe I’m not seeing it properly—I have a hard time with pictures—but it looks to me like the vanity and the wood framing the window are black. Iiwy, I’d paint the mirror frames black, too. I dislike matchy-matchy, but I think that would enhance your great lights and faucets. Just an idea.

I see this photo now makes the wall look way lighter than it is. So difficult to get good pictures cause of all the angles in the room.

Such a transformation!! Where did you find the extra space for the double sinks? The sink in the before photos looked so cramped. (I will need to go back to the picture to see if there was a closet next to it that I missed or something.)

toilet is now. On the other side of the wall, where the double sinks are now, there was a closet in the bedroom. Next to the closet was an enclosure for a hot water heater. I had the hot water heater moved to a different location and used the closet, a total of 3x5 = 15 square feet.

I will never understand why they built such a tiny bathroom in this house. It was really awful. I bought the house because it was all on one floor and I loved the 1/2-acre lot. I must have been crazy to think this bathroom remodel would be easy. Now I have to sue Contractor #1. But at least it is finished!

I just had to come back and revisit your amazing and beautiful pics. I can't believe all the compliments!! How wonderful!!
I imagine all the compliments make you so happy and proud of your new bathroom.

If we had a prize for the most compliments given on final pics for a remodel/renovation, you would be the winner!

(Of course, we do love looking at all remodel pics from everyone!)

I cannot tell you how many hours I spent at Lowe's! Or how much $$ I spent.

As the project dragged on with Contractor #1 (the doofus), I began to question my choices, wondering if I would ever see a finished product.

Thank goodness he was slow. I thought that was the only issue. But when the new guy and City inspector saw his work, I learned he had violated practically every standard there was. Had he completed the work as started, it would have been dangerous, most likely would have ruined my roof (unvented ceiling fan), caused a fire (electrical installed haphazardly without being attached within walls), and probably cracked and collapsed (really shoddy drywall, totally done wrong with old leftover pieces, not factory edge to edged, etc.).

So it is a real validation to see my ideas come to fruition and look as good as it does. Whew. All that for only twice the price. And now on to small claims court.

Love the way your bathroom turned out.

Any chance that the first contractor can lose his license (did he actually HAVE a license?) for the poor work? Can you contact his insurance company? The problems with his work and judgment and totally unconscionable.

Clarity, your bathroom looks very similar to what I'm having done in mine. Same flooring, dark brown vanity, and the tub surround is exactly the one I picked. Still thinking on the exact paint color, but it will be some shade of blue also. I hope mine turns out as nice as yours!!

Oh, and I LOVE your light fixtures!
