A sad, but probably a prudent move. So many large gatherings are being cancelled as a precaution. A friend had a bodybuilding convention in Columbus, OH cancelled last week, and a group of my retired friends cancelled plans for a girlfriends weekend to Santa Fe, NM. And a community in Westchester County, NY where my cousin and a friend lives now has the National Guard called in!

I have not purchased baseball tickets for early spring, and had considered going on a bus trip in a couple of weeks to see The Temptations musical, but decided to go another time. I did purchase tickets to see Lady Gaga in concert, but that's not till August. Hopefully, things will be under control by then.

Definitely a scary world we are living in. I am so grateful I am retired and do not have to deal with the implications for school instruction at home. Stay safe and well my PT retired friends!

My DH is "elbow bumping" when he goes out to see customers.

Harvard and a few other colleges have told students not to come back after spring break. They will finish the semester online.

I am in my mid-60s and have a pre-existing condition. My doctor told me today to please skip all large events, airline flights, and all other activities where many people gather in close quarters. She said it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

Early today I heard Philadelphia was still planning on holding the parade. They suggest the elderly/compromised system should stay home and watch on TV. Since there are confirmed cases of the virus here, not sure they should have the parade because younger people aren't affected as easy.

Is back on. Against the recommendation of the governor and health dept. many kids who were marching in bands are being kept home by parents. I will not be going to that germ fest!

will still hold the parade. Young people are not affected as much. So, let me get this right. Older people are told not to attend. Then younger people attend and then sometime in the next two weeks will probably go off and visit grandma and grandpa. This isn't alarming?

Great plan...NOT!

Cancel the parade and let young people have small parties and raise a glass to St. Patrick!

Houston Rodeo is being canceled.
Many students in Texas count on selling their animals here.
Some of them will go to college on what the receive for animals, art , judging, etc,
They work all year with their animals and will nothing to show for it.

I attend an exercise class aimed at people over 55. Just got an email that starting Monday all classes are cancelled into the end of April.
